The ROM is pairing celebrity chefs with local farmers and wineries to spotlight sustainable food and wine production.

The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) invites the public to experience Green Gastronomy at its c5 and Food Studio restaurants. One Friday per month from April to July, c5 will host a celebrity Ontario chef, a selected regional farmer and vintner to create a superlative dinner and wine menu using local ingredients. They will also discuss their philosophies of sustainable food and wine production. The following Sunday, the same culinary team will create à la carte lunch menu items in Food Studio.

The Friday Green Gastronomy program in c5 takes place on April 4, May 9, June 6 and July 11. The full evening program, beginning at 6:30 pm, including hors d'oeuvres and a four-course dinner with wine pairing for each course, costs $125 plus taxes and gratuities. It is a unique opportunity for the public to experience a gourmet meal created by Chef de Cuisine Ted Corrado along with one of Ontario's top chefs that reflects a sensitivity to local suppliers and to the land.

The Sunday Green Gastronomy program in Food Studio takes place on April 6, May 11, June 8 and July 13 from noon to 2 pm. This program is appropriate for the whole family as an occasion to sample à la carte menu items with optional paired wine while learning how chefs, farmers and vintners can work together to support the local agricultural economy, reduce greenhouse emissions and create delicious unique food. Food Studio is the ROM's casual family restaurant dedicated to providing healthy menu options in an earth-friendly environment. Under the direction of Chef Caesar Guinto, Food Studio sources organic, seasonal ingredients from local Ontario food producers when possible and provides a selection of biodegradable containers and plates as part of its healthy planet initiative.
